Wassily Kandinsky was an abstract artist who felt he could express feelings and music through colors and shapes within his paintings.
Watch the videos below before beginning your artwork.
You can draw using a pencil, crayons, markers, paint, ink pen, or cut out different sizes of the shape and arrange to create a collage.
Now relax... close your eyes, take a deep breath, and listen.
What do you hear? The TV in another room, someone cooking in the kitchen, a bird chirping, a dog barking, background music on an app or video game, a lawn mower. Don’t hear anything? Then play some music or your favorite song.
Focus on the sounds you hear.
Is the sound slow or fast? Is it loud and energetic, or soft and soothing? Does the sound repeat? How does the sound make you feel inside?
Now start to create your artwork based on the sound.
Is your shape BIG or small? Does your shape repeat all over the page, or it is spread out? Are you using more than one color or the same color multiple times?
Don't over think this... relax and let the sounds inspire your art!
