Hand Holding Heart Art Project

Hand Holding Heart Art Project: Positive Words
and Kindness Activity for Elementary Students

Looking for a meaningful art project that encourages kindness, positive thinking, and self-expression?

This Hand Holding Heart art project is one of my favorite elementary art lessons because it combines creativity with social-emotional learning. Students create a colorful hand holding a heart while filling the artwork with positive words and encouraging messages.

The project provides students with an opportunity to reflect on kindness, character traits, and positive affirmations while creating a visually engaging piece of artwork.

Students began by tracing and drawing a hand holding a heart shape. They then filled the heart and background with positive words, encouraging messages, and descriptive character traits. Once the drawings were complete, students used color to emphasize their designs and create contrast throughout the artwork.

This lesson encourages students to think about:

❤️ Kindness

❤️ Positive Words

❤️ Character Education

❤️ Self-Esteem

❤️ Social-Emotional Learning

❤️ Encouragement and Respect

The finished projects not only create a beautiful display but also serve as a reminder of the positive impact words can have on ourselves and others.

This project is perfect for:

🎨 Elementary Art

🎨 SEL Activities

🎨 Kindness Week

🎨 Valentine's Day Art

🎨 Character Education Lessons

🎨 Positive Behavior Activities

🎨 Classroom Community Building
