BATS

2nd grade students used toothbrushes to splatter orange and purple paint over black paper revealing a negative space bat image when dry. Students also traced the bat and used diagonal, vertical, and horizontal lines to separate their paper and then colored each section using markers and crayons to create a stain glass effect. 

  

 

KG Pumpkins

Kindergartners colored a solid area using a variety of orange crayons and then glued on different shapes to complete their Jack-o’-lanterns.

Harvest Pumpkins

4th grade students drew a harvest pumpkin sitting in the grass and then outlined all their pencils marks with glue to create a raised contour line when dry.  Then using even and controlled brush strokes, students painted their papers using tempera cakes with a wet on wet technique.

  

 

Monsters

1st grade students created Frankenstein inspired boy or girl monsters by cutting out and gluing down shapes with drawn on details.  If a student doesn't celebrate Halloween they had the option of creating a boy or girl character instead. 

 

 

 

 

Skeletons

Using cotton swabs, 3rd grade students constructed skeletons in an action pose based off the book Skeleton Hiccups by Margery Cuyler.
