Story Quilts

Inspired by the artwork of Faith Ringgold, 3rd graders created paper Story Quilts. 

 

 

 

 

KG Shapes

Sorry not many pictures to show for this project.  Kindergartners used cardboard tubes to stamp a circle pattern and blend paint colors.  Then after the paper dried, students traced and cut out different shapes and glued them onto a black background.

Mittens

1st grade students designed and cut out matching mittens.

Graffiti Art

5th grade created Graffiti art by first laying out their brick walls and adding highlights and shadows to give the illusion of depth.  Then students painted a block lettered word showing color value.

 

 

 

 

 

Heart Person

KG students assembled a Heart Person by cutting out heart shapes and drawing a face.
