Stockings

2nd graders designed Holiday Stockings.

 

Bow and Jingle Bell

4th graders learned about value and how to use highlight and shadow areas to create the illusion of depth.   Students traced a bow and bell template, outlined both using black sharpies, and then fill in areas with color values using oil pastels.  Unfortunately I was not able to photograph the process as my assistance was needed throughout the project.

Winter Scene

Kindergartners assemble houses using simple shapes and then painted falling snow.

 

Holiday Trees

5th graders coiled mold magic into a cone form, once dried they painted and decorated them to create Holiday Trees.

 

 

 

Turkeys

2nd grade students reviewed different types of lines, and then drew lines onto multiple pieces of construction paper.  Feather templates were then traced and cut out along with additional shapes to be glued and assembled showing a feather patterned paper turkey.

 

 

Warm/Cool Houses

3rd graders identified the difference between warm and cool colors by splitting their house drawing in half and using only warm colors on the day side and cool colors on the night side.

 

 

Fall Tree

1st grade students used paint and Q-tips to make a fall colored tree.

Fall Themed Paintings

4th graders created Fall Themed artwork by first drawing fall themed objects or words on a paper which they divided into triangular sections. Afterwards students outlined all their pencil marks using a black sharpie and then students began to paint using water colors.  The pumpkin was drawn and painted separately, then cut out.  Both papers were then glued onto a black background.

 

 

 

 

KG Fall Trees

Kindergartners identified small, medium and large sized circles to trace and cut out assembling a fall themed classroom tree.

 

Painted Tubes: Part 2

Secondary Owls

2nd Graders created a fall themed owl project using secondary colors.  After sponge painting a background, students used a brush to paint feathers and the silhouette of a tree branch, spider web and bat.  Once dried they used construction paper to assemble an owl wearing either a witches hat or a sleeping cap.
